  • SONAR Home Studio.

The DAW that I use is SONAR Home Studio.

I purchased it off of Steam about 3 years ago. It's an okay DAW for a beginner, but major problems include:

    1. It is way too limiting without additional plugins or MIDI controllers. You don't get too much out of the box.
    2. It could possibly be my computer, but I also notice that the DAW is very glitchy. It seems as though "it installs for
the first time", every time it's booted up, among other things
    .

Full SONAR user since...[deep breath]...1992!! The original company went out of business and it has been purchased by Bandlab and is now available--the full version--FREE and called "Cakewalk by Bandlab". Full-featured and I love it. You get a TON "out of the box" now. This is the full version and then some. There are a ton of free/cheap VSTs you can add to it for greater value. Strong support communities on Facebook and at cakewalk.com and Bandlab.com. Plus a ton of videos on YouTube. Hang in there on this one. FREE!!
